The fine pewter figures represent different lands, cultures and eras. All of the men challenged and conquered the unknown. They were envisioned and created by renowned sculptor Michael Rizzello of Great Britain, one of the masters in the art of portrait sculpture in miniature. He held the position of President of The Royal Society of British Sculptors. Each figure was sculpted with meticulous attention to detail and complete devotion to accuracy.
Each original work of art was created exclusively for this collection and each is individually hand finished and hand polished to bring out every detail of the artist's work. Each figure has his name on bottom, the insignia of the Royal Geographical Society and the year it was made.
