This is a softball sized specimen. Of native copper weighing just over three pounds. That was collected by a former professor of geology. From the University of Michigan. Collected from the site of the Isle Royal Mine in Dodgeville. On the Keweenaw Peninsula about two miles south of Houghton.

This mine has been closed since the early 1900s. As best as I can tell this specimen was collected during the 1970's. On a road trip around the Great Lakes.

Note that was packed with the piece reads. Native copper with drill scar calcite quartz copper oxides in basalt. Isle Royal Mine Dodgeville MI. I see some nice epidote crystals as well, I might add.
