Leather covered waisted wood grip. The guard of very fine quality with incised decoration. This schivona was doubtless carried by one of Emperor Charles VI Dalmatian guards. Condition is fine, the blade with clear engraving and only minor surface rust. Grip is fine as is basket.
This is the first schiavona broadsword we have had the pleasure to offer with an undeniable imperial association. Charles VI was an important European monarch throughout the first and second quarter of the 18th century.
