VERY RARE Imperial Glass Candlewick Liberty Ashtray set #400/550 Only made 1943

Imperial Glass Candlewick Liberty Ashtray set #400/550 Only made 1943. The Imperial Glass Company made the Candlewick pattern from 1936 to 1982. For the war effort, a limited edition Candlewick stacking ashtray called Liberty, was made in 1943. The 6 pink ashtray features an embossed eagle surrounded by stars. The 5 yellow ashtray featured an embossed shield with stars and bars. The 4 blue ashtray featured an embossed V (for Victory) surround by stars. Candlewick is also one of the 104 patterns that are featured in our new 4th Edition book by Debbie & Randy Coe called "Elegant Glass; Early, Depression and Beyond" on pages 30 to 38. The Liberty ashtray set is in good condition with no staining, scratches, chips or cracks.

On the bottom of the pink ashtray, where it was ground and polished, there is a pin point size nick that probably happened during this finishing process (see close up photo).
