An impressive and very rare German telephone from the WWI era. It has two crank handles, one on each side of the metal body. The body has a large Reichsadler (Imperial Eagle) transfer on each side. The metal body has a wooden base and a wooden top which is stamped in several places.
A possible date of manufacture is stamped 19.7.18, and the name R. Several feet of original cord is still attached to the telephone. There is a small amount of missing/broken wood on the handset portion on the mouthpiece end, as shown in the attached pictures. Height of Base: 7.25 inches.
