A PAIR OF LATE 19TH CENTURY ROYAL WORCESTER FIGURES of a young man playing a banjo and his companion the tambourine, with tree trunk bocage, on a naturalistic base, the ivory ground detailed in gilt, puce printed mark, shape no. Inscribed on the base are "W9" on the girl, and "W10" on the boy. Impressed with the name of the designer, James Hadley. Beneath the hallmark on the girl is the letter W, smudged, indicating that the figures were made in 1885.

Absolutely impeccable quality - the colors on the clothes and faces of the musicians are excellently preserved, as is the gilding on their clothes. No visible signs of damage, chips or repairs.
