For sale is a pair of VERY RARE 1958 Florsheim Imperial 93604 Brown Calf Raised Lake Norwegian Split Toe Gunboat Dress Shoe Men's 8.5 C. These shoes feature Florsheim's luxurious Cashmere Calfskin uppers (I suspect this is the same leather used on similar early period 93602s - given the closeness of their style numbers), a unique "raised-lake" Norwegian Split Toe (NST) gunboat dress shoe design, round waxed braided brown laces, leather lining, leather sockliner, leather insole, leather midsole, leather outsole, stacked leather heel, and Storm Goodyear Welted Construction.

For reference, here are the approximate measurements (taken along the outsole). Width (at the ball of foot) - 4.25. These shoes have seen a fair amount of wear, and appear to have been fully resoled and reheeled at some point.

Given the age of the leather, there are signs of age, wear and tear throughout the shoe. Additionally, when I found these shoes, the leather throughout was incredibly brittle and dusty. That said, it's a testament to the quality of materials and leather Florsheim used at this time that these shoes were able to rebound so impressively - they've cleaned up quite well.

I first brushed these with a horsehair brush to remove surface dust and dirt, sprayed them down with cleaning vinegar/water solution to remove more stubborn grime, throughly reconditioned these shoes, over multiple days, with a dozen rounds of Weimans Leather Conditioner (spray), further cleaned and conditioned them, inside and out, with Weimans Leather Wipes, deep cleaned and conditioned with Lexol Cleaner and Conditioner, edge-dressed/polished the sole-sidewall/edge with Saphir Beaute du Cuir Shoe Cream, and deep conditioned and polished them with Saphir Medaille d'or Lotion. I finished them with the Saphir Neutral Lotion to maintain their distinct color and patina, given their rarity. I additionally laundered the laces. These shoes come from a pet and smoke-free home.
