Royal Crown Ginger Ale Vintage Cola Soda Bottle 10 oz Green ACL 1982 VERY RARE
This is a vintage Royal Crown Ginger Ale Soda Bottle. Has very nice ACL label. This bottle is exceptionally rare. Despite my best efforts I cannot find anything about it or any other examples anywhere online -- not eCommerce websites, not WorthPoint, not Google Lens. I have asked multiple Facebook and Reddit bottle collecting groups and no one knows anything.
So this is a very rare bottle indeed. I acquired it at an estate sale. The estate belonged to someone who had an extensive bottle collection in their basement, which is where I found this bottle.
The owner of the estate sale company running the sale told me they couldn't find anything on it either, but someone they knew who was into bottles had reached out to them asking about it and told them they had one that was the only other one they've ever seen and claimed it was a prototype bottle never actually put into production. I can't confirm that, but if it was actually released it was a very low production likely done only regionally in the Southeast, perhaps only parts of NC (where I found it) and for a very limited time. I do know the first soda Royal Crown ever produced was actually Ginger Ale, but that was in the 1800's before they switched to Cola. Those bottles were paper labels that are highly valuable, sought after and rare. This one seems even rarer than those. What I do know: The bottle's ACL has Falcon Bottling Company at the bottler. The date code is for 1982 on the bottom. So the bottle would have been bottled by Falcon (if used) but the bottle itself was made by Laurens.What I know for sure is this is a RARE BOTTLE and would be an incredible show piece for any soda bottle collection or RC Cola collection.
