In 1980, a series of plaques with images of The Hague and the surrounding area from around 1900 was made on behalf of Focke & Meltzer. These were brought onto the market in a very limited edition.

This plaque concerns the Jacob Pronkstraat in Scheveningen. He was the operator of a bath house there. This is number 3 of 300. The design is by J. Dessens and painted by P.

The plaque is like new. Ive tried to make an accurate description but buyers should always look carefully at the pictures as they are part of that description. I have over 300 spare tiles and plates!! The Porceleyne Fles (Royal Delft) is the last surviving earthenware factory from the 17. The factory began producing in 1653 and became quickly one of the most important pottery factorys in the Netherlands.

The world known logo little bottle be was used for the first time in 1697. Century it went downhill with the pottery industry due to foreign competitors with newer techniques and better materials. In 1884 my great grandfather Abel Labouchere took over the company and together with Joost Thooft made a few important changes and thus gave the products more durability. With that he laid the foundation for the factory as we know it today.

In 1929 my mother was given a little vase as a present. It laid the base for a huge collection of commemorative earthenware (Cloisonné tiles and plates). As a collector I learned well how an item should be packed, so no worries!
