This listing is for an Extremely Rare Cold Steel Imperial Tanto # 64. The handle is a traditional Japanese styled handle using Samegawa (shark or rayskin) with cross patterned silkcord. The blade has been constructed in true San Mai fashion, with a hard stainless steel core supported by two multi layered sheets of Damascus steel.
These three pieces have been expertly hammer forged into one inseparable unit comprised of over 160 layers of steel. The resulting blade has earned the name "Imperial Tanto" and is the only stainless steel Damascus blade ever to pass the grueling American Bladesmith test (at the time this blade was introduced around late 80s and early 90s).
There is only less than 1000 made and all are numbered. It comes with original sheath in Excellent condition. Please refer to pictures as part of the description.
