Here we have a rare Royal Doulton character figure "Organ Grinder"... Designed at Royal Doulton works by leading designer Mary Nicoll, Organ Grinder is standing with his music box strapped over his shoulders, his right hand turning the box. He seems to be singing along to the music. He is dressed in a green jacket with cream trousers and black boots, around his shoulders is a neckerchief in shades of purple.

He wears a brown brimmed hat and stands on a cobbled pavement. He is accompanied, of course, by his monkey who sits atop the music box. Monkey is dressed in blue trousers and a military style jacket with epaulettes.

Monkey is the one who collects the coins and his bowl has a couple of coins depicted in it... This collectible old character figure is in lovely condition with no chips, cracks or repairs and he is well painted with a good glaze. Produced somewhere between 1956 and 1965 when he was retired, he is a nice genuine old figure.
